Voima-Papu Tomato & Broad Bean Pasta Sauce

Servings: 8-10

Preparation time: 60 minutes


  • 500 g of your choice of dry pasta
  • 500 g organic tomato sauce
  • 3 tablespoons Voima-Papu roasted, ground broad beans
  • 2 onions
  • 3 tbsp virgin olive oil
  • 2 tbsp herb salt
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp tomato puree or ketchup
  • 3-4 dl oatmeal cream
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp dark balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbsp organic honey or other sweetening
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • (water)


  1. Chop the onions.
  2. Heat the oil in a large saucepan.
  3. Cook the onions until soft and translucent.
  4. Sauté for a moment and add dry spices (herb salt, garlic powder), tomato puree/ketchup and ground broad beans.
  5. Mix together the tomato sauce and other sauce ingredients (soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, honey, lemon juice).
  6. Add to the onions. Do not add the cream yet.
  7. Stir and simmer slowly under the lid for 40 minutes.
  8. Cook the pasta according to the instructions on the package. However, leave a little of the cooking water.
  9. Add cream to the sauce and stir. If the sauce feels too thick, add a little water.
  10. Take the sauce off the stove and mix it smooth with a hand blender.
  11. Finally, add the cooked pasta and stir. Allow to stand a moment before serving.
  12. Serve sprinkled with fresh mild chili and nutritional yeast flakes.
